Mrs. Alesia Desgrosiellier, RHIT, CTR
Mrs. Alesia Desgrosiellier our Cancer Information Specialist. In an accredited cancer program it is imperative that data management and patient care be of the utmost quality. Alesia helps to make sure this happens. Ms. Desgrosiellier was born and raised in upstate New York. She holds a degree in Health Information Technology with certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). She has served on the board of the New York Cancer Registrars Association and has been instrumental in educating area college students and New York State cancer registrars in the practices and principles of Cancer Data Management.
She is a part of the Clinical Trials/Research program that ensures that all federal regulations are abided by during the course of conducting Clinical Trials. She is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Institutional Review Board – an administrative body whose purpose is to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research under the auspices of CKCI. Alesia also coordinates the activities of the CKCI Grants Committee which will seek out funding opportunities for the cancer center through the National Institute of Health as well as private Foundations. As a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR), with 13 years experience, Alesia brings a wealth of knowledge to CKCI. Alesia will also play a role in helping CKCI work towards its goal of becoming one of an elite group of American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Approved Cancer Programs.
