Elizabeth Bondie – Medical Dosimetrist
Beth Bondie, CMD is our Medical Dosimetrist at CKCI. A Medical Dosimetrist works with both the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist to create treatment plans for radiation therapy patients. At CKCI, we not only use 3D but we also use IMRT planning. IMRT is highly technical but allows us to treat our patients with high precision and higher doses while minimizing side effects. Due to the advanced nature of CKCI treatments, it is imperative that we have a dosimetrist that has a high level of experience and is dedicated to assuring that the quality standards remain high.
Beth Bondie was born and raised in Michigan. She attended Oakwood School for Radiologic Technology and graduated at the top of her class. She was then accepted into University of Michigan's Radiation Therapy program and graduated in the top two of that class. While working as a Radiation Therapist at Detroit Medical Center, she expressed an interest in physics and was chosen by the Wayne State University Physics staff to train to become a dosimetrist. Within four years, Beth became certified as a Medical Dosimetrist and continued to work at Detroit Medical Center. The radiation therapy field began to make advancements that were not possible before the "computer age". Working at a University affiliated hospital during those years proved to be a valuable experience that allowed her to take part in advancements as they happened.
For the past 7 years, Beth has worked as a locum tenans employee, traveling to cancer centers all over the US. Beth accepted a permanent position after working as a locum at CKCI. She is happy to be a part of a dedicated team of highly educated professionals and is excited to be a part of the cancer institute's development.
