Jessica Young, RN, OCN
Ms. Jessica Young, RN, OCN, is our Administrative Care Coordinator – Research Nurse. As a Research Nurse, Jessica will be involved in recruiting, educating and monitoring patients who are a part of clinical trials conducted at CKCI. She will provide clinical support to the research team as well as assist patients who are receiving radiation therapy at CKCI. She will work cooperatively with the research team and other departments of SRMC including laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology to ensure that our patients who are enrolled in clinical trials receive excellent medical care and nursing services.

Jessica Young has a strong and diverse clinical background. She received her nursing education at Columbia College in Columbia, MO. She worked at the University of Missouri Hospital on a medical ward and cared for cardiology patients, including patients who were part of the institutionŐs heart transplant program. She then worked in dialysis caring for adults and children who were receiving hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, in conjunction with the hospitalŐs kidney transplant program. For the past five years, she has worked in Dallas, TX. She worked for Texas Oncology which is the worldŐs largest group of medical professionals devoted exclusively to cancer care. In this setting, she gained knowledge and experience in chemotherapy administration, medical oncology nursing, and radiation oncology nursing. She is a member of the National Oncology Nursing Society and obtained certification as an OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse), which is a voluntary credential supported by the Oncology Nursing Society.

She is pleased to join the group of dedicated professionals at CKCI and looks forward to being a part of the team who brings the opportunity of clinical trials to the patients in our community.
