Linda Baptiste RT (R)(T) – Radiation Therapist
Linda Baptiste was born and raised here on St. Thomas. She is a graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School and attended the University of the Virgin Islands where she concentrated on liberal arts classes. After owning a nail salon she changed her career and attended the Mary Washington School of Radiologic Technology where she became a Registered Radiologic Technologist. She then applied and was accepted to the University of Virginia’s Radiation Therapy Program. There, she attained her Certification in Radiation Therapy, and became a Registered Radiation Therapist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. As a Radiation Therapist, her primary duties include patient simulation and administering daily radiation treatments. In simulation, the patient is set up in the same position that they will be treated. She will develop custom made positioning aids and use the CT scanner to locate the area of treatment. She will also be treating patients with radiation on a daily basis. This includes precise positioning of the patient and administering the prescribed radiation dose. She will communicate patient concerns to the oncology nurse or Radiation Oncologist.
