At the Charlotte Kimelman Cancer Institute, the patient's appearance is acknowledged as an essential component of the healing process. That is why the Eastern Caribbean's most comprehensive and state-of-the-art cancer treatment center includes theLynne Cohen Positive Appearance Boutique. In a private, but most upscale setting, customers are assisted by Donna M. Phillip, certified Mastectomy Fitter, in restoring their confidence, courage, and self-esteem with selections of high quality, yet stylish, products which meet the special requirements of the survivor.
 Being a survivor, as well, Donna appreciates how much the treatment and recovery processes are assisted by attractive and comfortable intimate apparel, cosmetics, wigs, hats, scarves, and fashion accessories. The Amoena product line is featured, making available to customers the industry's finest breast forms, post-breast surgery product, and intimate apparel.
The Lynne Cohen Positive Appearance Boutique is the exclusive Virgin Islands distributor of Lindi Skin Care products, developed especially for cancer patients. Lindi Skin products are exceptionally effective and safe for all skin conditions. Breast prosthesis fittings are scheduled by appointment only, to ensure maximum customer privacy. A physician referral is required.

Treatments for Different Cancer Needs
Breast Cancer
 The Boutique carries breast forms, mastectomy bras, camisoles, and bathing suits. Cotton bras are also available for use during radiation therapy. There is a certified fitter on staff.
Choosing the right breast form starts with a properly-fitted, pocketed bra to help determine breast shape and size. We carry light breast forms from Amoena in asymmetrical and symmetrical shapes for shallow, average and full cup forms. The light breast forms are ideal for women who are experiencing weakness from osteoporosis, arthritis and lymphedema. We also provide the Amoena Balance line of symmetry shapers for patients who have had lumpectomies, or any type of breast conserving surgery. They are designed to provide breast symmetry and balance in a variety of shapes, sizes and thickness. Swim forms, waterproof breast forms, weighted and non-weighted leisure forms and fiber-filled breast forms are also available. The Amoena Contact and Natura Comfort+ technology breast forms are the newest addition to the inventory at the Boutique. It is the latest technology in the integration of a temperature-regulating material directly into an additional layer in the silicone breast form. It absorbs excess body heat from the chest wall, which reduces overheating, and therefore perspiration behind the form. The Amoena Contact breast forms, Comfort+ technology can enhance adhesion due to less perspiration for a more secure bond.
Chemotherapy and Radiation
The Center carries wigs and other hair alternatives, including hats, caps, turbans, and scarves, as well as products to help ease discomfort that may be experienced during treatment.

Common Questions
What is available?
There are several types of breast forms available in ivory and tawny, which are carefully fitted by a professional fitter, as well as an assortment of wigs in various colors and sizes. We also carry a variety of hats and scarves.
What is the process of Service?
Customers have an initial consultation, followed by the development of a plan of care with instruction for patients to follow-up with a contact as needed. The purchase date of the breast prosthesis is tracked so that patients may be informed when they are eligible for a newer breast form or bra. Patients are kept informed of support groups and other available resources such the St. Thomas/St. John and St. Croix American Cancer Society.
Fittings are by appointment only to ensure the privacy of each patient, and are approximately 45 minutes one Hour Fitting. Doctor Referrals Required.
